ヘルムート・ヴァルヒャ
オルガン・チェンバロ奏者。1907年ライプツィヒ生まれ。91年没。ライプツィヒ音楽院在学中の16歳で失明。ギュンター・ラミンに師事、26年からラミンの助手としてトーマス教会でオルガンを弾く。以後着実にキャリアを積み重ね、39年からフランクフルトで毎年定期的に開かれるバッハ演奏会を創設。46年同地の三王教会のオルガニストを務めながら、世界的に活躍する。楽譜の校訂、作曲なども行なう。厳格なバッハ演奏で一時代を画した。
