ジョー・パス
1929年1月米国ニュージャージー州ブランズウィック生まれ。47年にチャーリー・バーネット楽団で演奏するが、麻薬禍のため注目を集めたのは61年以降。60年代はおもにサイドメンとして活躍、70年代に入って興行師ノーマン・グランツに見出されてからはジャズ・ギターの名手として多くのオールスター・セッションに起用された。代表作『フォー・ジャンゴ』『ヴァーチュオーゾ』。94年5月23日ロサンゼルスにて死去。
