1992年、サンディエゴでソニー・サントバル（vo）を中心に結成された4人組ラップ・メタル・バンド。正式グループ名Payable On Death。インディーズ・シーンでの地道なライヴ活動と作品発表の後、98年にアトランティックと契約。99年アルバム『サウスタウン』でメジャー・デビューし、いきなりゴールド・ディスクを獲得。キリスト教のポジティヴなメッセージ性でカリスマ的人気を獲得し、01年にアルバム『サテライト』で大ブレイク。
