1980年に英国シェフィールドで結成されたロック・バンド。81年にシングル「涙まだまだ」でデビューし、翌82年にリリースしたアルバム『ルック・オブ・ラヴ』で全英チャート1位を獲得した。83年には作風をがらりと変えたセカンド・アルバム『ビューティ・スタッブ』を発表し、その才能の多彩さを披露。その後メンバーの脱退などがあったが、87年にマーティン・フライとマーク・ホワイトの2人で再出発しアルバム『アルファベット・シティ』をリリースした。
