1982年に結成されたノルウェー出身のシンセ・ポップ・バンド。メンバーはヴォーカリストのモートン・ハルケットを中心とする3人組。85年のデビュー曲「テイク・オン・ミー」のアニメと実写を駆使したミュージック・ビデオが大量にオンエアされ、世界的な大ヒットを記録。以後「シャイン・オン・TV」「クライ・ウルフ」「ステイ・オン・ディーズ・ローズ」などのヒットを連発。ノルウェー・ポップ史上最大の人気グループとなった。94年より活動休止状態が続いたが、98年に活動を再開。英国、ヨーロッパ各国を中心に安定した人気を誇っている。
