Duke Jordan
1922年4月1日、米国ニューヨーク・ブルックリン生まれ。ジャズ・ピアニスト。1946年にチャーリー・パーカーに見出されパーカーの下で活動し、スタン・ゲッツ、オスカー・ペティフォードらと共演、1959年に渡欧、1961年に帰国。その後10年間一線を退くが、73年に5枚の作品を残した。その中には代表作である『フライト・トゥ・デンマーク』も含まれている。バップ・スタイルではあるが、叙情性に富んでおり、重厚な風格が感じられるプレイを魅力に活躍した。2006年8月8日に逝去。享年84。
