W.A.S.P.
1982年に結成された米国カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス出身のヘヴィ・メタル・バンド。メンバーはブラッキー・ローレス（vo、g）を中心とする4人編成。チェインソーがトレードマークの過激なオカルト・メタルの代表的バンドとして知られる存在。1984年、シングル「Animal（Fuck Like A Beast）」でデビュー。また同年に1stアルバム『W.A.S.P.』をリリース。残虐趣味の歌詞や過激なパフォーマンスでメタル界で異彩を放つも、熱狂的ファンを多く生むことに成功。サウンド自体は直球のハード・ロックンロールで、正統派のLAメタルといってよい。
