エムパイヤ・ブラス
1973年、ボストン交響楽団の首席トランペット奏者のロルフ・スメドヴィックをリーダーとして結成。オリジナル・メンバー5人は指揮者のマイケル・ティルソン・トーマスの紹介で、米国のタングルウッド音楽祭で知り合った。その後世界第一級のブラス・クインテットに成長し、欧米、アジアで活躍。バロックからジャズ、ミュージカル曲まで幅広いレパートリーを持ち、圧倒的な妙技が絶賛を博している。
